Eden Hopewell

Welcome! I’m Eden Hopewell, and I write Sapphic historical stories that bring bold, defiant women to life on the page.

Inspired by my love for history and stories like Gentleman Jack, I’m passionate about creating narratives where Sapphic women don’t just survive the challenges of their time—they thrive. Through romance, adventure, and resilience, my characters follow their own paths, overcoming odds to embrace love and authenticity in eras that rarely made space for them. I hope you’ll feel swept away and inspired, finding in my stories a place where Sapphic women make history by simply living boldly.

Fun Facts About Eden

  • A Love for Historical Eras
“Ask me to pick a favorite era, and I’d struggle! My fascination started with the Tudor and Elizabethan times when I was a kid. Then came Ancient Rome, Ancient Egypt (yes, I could spell my name in hieroglyphs!), the colonial Caribbean, the early days of America, and so much more. I’m always captivated by what everyday life was like, and each era holds something new for me to discover.”
  • The Appeal of Historical Clothing
“I have a soft spot for historical fashion—there’s something magical about the clothing from different periods, and I often imagine my characters wearing those outfits as I write!”
  • The Real Story Behind the Black Plague
“Did you know the Black Plague wasn’t a single outbreak? It struck in waves across Europe and Asia over hundreds of years, with recurring pandemics that shaped entire societies. Learning about these events shows just how resilient people have always been.”
  • Curiosity-Driven Research
“My research takes me all over the map, from the high seas of the Caribbean’s pirate-infested waters to the dust and grit of America’s Great Depression. I’m endlessly fascinated by the idea of ‘what could have been’ for people of the past.”
